Burstyn Law

Burstyn Law was founded with a simple perspective. We take on high-stakes and high-impact matters because those are the cases that we are motivated to win.

The firm is led by Sean Burstyn, a trial lawyer and former federal judicial law clerk in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida. He was previously an Associate at the international law firm Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP in New York. While at Skadden, Sean handled “bet the company” litigation and represented clients including the Argentine Republic, J.P. Morgan, Avianca, and Capital One in courts throughout the country, including New York’s state and federal courts. Prior to joining Skadden, Sean interned in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.

In his twenties, Sean was an internationally licensed champion professional formula racecar driver, driver manager, and owner of a team that currently competes in the IndyCar Series and the Indianapolis 500.

While an undergraduate student, Sean interned in the Washington, D.C., offices of Senator Joseph I. Lieberman, Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, and Congressman Alcee L. Hastings.

Sean graduated with honors from the George Washington University’s Elliott School of International Affairs and he holds a juris doctor from the University of Chicago Law School.

All of the attorneys at Burstyn Law are former federal or state judicial law clerks, half of whom clerked for appellate courts and the other half for trial judges.
